Right before we started taping, they told me to just be myself. To be natural. And not to worry, that I would be fine.
And I said, sure, I understood.
Then there was a pause. And then Ted said, "Uh, OK, but you have to loosen up, man."
Wait.
Do you want me to loosen up or do you want me to be myself?

This blog is really about one thing.
It's about how to make things in your waffle iron. Oh, and it's about 16 minutes into its 15 minutes of fame. So two things. But it's not really about me, per se, or about what goes into making the blog itself.
Except for this part:
The day before the taping was the Gale Gand meet-up. I came back to my place, took a hard look at my kitchen, and pushed a lot of stuff onto the porch to prepare for the camera.
No sense in showing people how I really live.
I was up until 1am that night, chiefly because of the waffled soft pretzels. I needed to crank out half a dozen or so of the finished product, but I was turning out some truly fugly pretzels.
Eventually, that worked itself out and I went to bed.
The day of the taping, the waffleburger was a bit of a debacle. I'm not very pleased with the way that one turned out.
The buns were huge, and the patty was enormous. It didn't look like something you'd eat so much as something that might eat you. Plus, the cheese didn't want to melt nicely.
At any rate, how many waffleburgers had I made in my life up to that point? One. I had made multiple buns, but the burger itself had all come together well enough that I didn't need to go back and do it again.
Except then I did, on camera.
I guess it looked OK.
